Description

A 2-day excursion to Cairo is a unique opportunity to discover one of the most extraordinary metropolises in Africa and take away an unforgettable experience.

Day 1

Departure from the hotel at 01:00 AM. In a comfortable air-conditioned car, you will head to Cairo, and the journey will take about 6 hours. The tour starts with a visit to the Egyptian National Museum, which is the unparalleled guardian of the world’s largest archaeological collection spanning all historical periods of ancient Egypt up to the Greco-Roman era. The collection includes about 160,000 artifacts, including the contents of Tutankhamun’s tomb and mummies. Optionally! A boat trip on the Nile with a Felucca – $10. 45 minutes for relaxation and fantastic photos, away from the city noise. Lunch at a panoramic location in a restaurant by the Nile. After lunch, you will head to the place where time stands still, to the symbol of Egypt – the Great Pyramids and the Sphinx. Egypt has over 100 pyramids, but the most famous are the Pyramids of Giza, considered one of the Seven Wonders of the World. Giza is a suburb of Cairo that enjoys global fame. You will visit the Papyrus Museum, where you will be told and shown how papyrus was made in ancient times, or a factory for perfumes and oils. After the sightseeing program, you will check into a cabin on a 4* Nile cruise ship. There, dinner awaits you, along with an entertainment program featuring a national show, and relaxation in cozy cabins. During the evening program, the liner departs from the pier, and you can admire the lights of the night city from the open deck.

Day 2

After breakfast at the hotel, you will head to Old Cairo: On the grounds of the Old City, the oldest Coptic churches have been preserved (Church and Monastery of St. George, Church of St. Paul, Hanging Church), including the Coptic Museum, the Babylon Fortress, and the Ben Ezra Synagogue. Islamic Cairo: Visit the oldest Islamic street called Al-Muizz. The street is famous for the Hussein Mosque, where one of the grandsons of the Prophet Muhammad is buried, and also houses the oldest religious school in the Islamic world – Al-Azhar University. After that, you will enjoy lunch at a restaurant. After lunch and a break, you will head to the Saladin Citadel. The Citadel in Cairo is a unique military structure in true Ottoman style, within whose walls several significant facilities for Egypt are located. In addition to the beautiful world-famous Alabaster Mosque of Muhammad Ali, its walls also house 3 palaces and 2 museums. And, of course, no one will remain indifferent to visiting and having the opportunity to make purchases at one of the world’s largest “Eastern Bazaars,” Khan El Khalili in Old Cairo. At the end of the second day of the excursion, you will return to Sharm El Sheikh, and by around 23:30, you will be back at your hotel.
