Description

4:00 am Departure from the hotel. One way trip will take about 3.5 hours. The monasteries of St. Anthony and Paul are the oldest Christian monasteries in the world, founded in the fourth century AD among the rocks of Galala Al-Kibliya. Both monasteries are considered sacred to the Coptic Church in Egypt. Today, more than 100 monks live here. You will see the library of St. Anthony, his medieval paintings. The library contains valuable ancient manuscripts.

The monastery of St. Paul was built over the cave of St. Paul. He lived in the 4th century AD. He preferred the ascetic life in the desert to the comforts of the city and dedicated his life to the worship of God. In the legend, God himself sent him bread, and lions dug his grave after his death at the age of 105. This ancient Egyptian heritage is worth seeing for everyone. Way back to Hurghada. 19:00 return to the hotel.
