Description

Cairo and Alexandria, a 2-day tour, provide a unique opportunity to explore the eastern heart of Egypt and take home unforgettable impressions. This tour combines visits to two capitals of Egypt: modern Cairo and ancient Alexandria. Both cities once possessed artifacts that were part of the Seven Wonders of the World.

Day 1

The transfer will pick you up from the hotel around 1:00 am, and then from Sharm to Cairo. You’ll be traveling in a comfortable bus with air conditioning, a restroom, and comfortable seats. A guide and a security guard (representative of the tourist police) will accompany you. The journey takes about 5-6 hours. Your English-speaking guide meets you in Cairo and your tour begins with a visit to the National Museum of Ancient Egypt – which is the unsurpassed custodian of the largest archaeological collection in the world. The museum has about 160,000 artifacts, including the contents of Tutankhamen’s tomb and mummies. Walk along the Nile River – 40 minutes, for relaxation and fantastic photos, away from the noise of the city, on the Felucca sailboat along the Nile (optional, for an additional fee of $ 10). Lunch in a panoramic position in a restaurant on the banks of the Nile (buffet). Next, you will see the main attraction of Cairo – the Pyramids at Giza and the Sphinx. It consists of: the only one in existence of the seven wonders of the Ancient World – the Pyramid of Khufu, the Pyramid of Khafre and the Pyramid of Menkaure. Statue of the Great Sphinx – located east of the pyramid of Khafre, it is located facing the Nile and the rising Sun. Check in hotel.

Day 2

Departure from the hotel in Cairo after breakfast at 7:00 AM. The journey to Alexandria takes about 2 hours (200 km). You will see the attractions of this beautiful city, which has combined the cultures of different eras. The Royal Library of Alexandria or the Ancient Library of Alexandria (overview) was one of the largest and most significant libraries of the ancient world. It was dedicated to the Muses, the nine goddesses of the arts. The Coptic Patriarchate – the place where the great apostle Mark is buried. Morsi Abu el Abbas Mosque. Qaitbay Citadel (overview). It is believed that the fortress arose on the site of one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, the Lighthouse of Alexandria, and even more – remnants of the lighthouse were used in construction. Lunch at a seafood restaurant on the Mediterranean. Return to Sharm, and by around 11:00 PM, you will be back at your hotel.
